Midwest Marine Group provides independent Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) services to support the safe planning and execution of complex marine operations. Our surveys provide technical assurance that vessels, equipment, procedures and proposed operations are suitable for the intended activity and that identified marine risks have been appropriately managed.

Marine Warranty Survey services can be provided for ocean towage, vessel and barge movements, heavy transport operations, offshore projects, load-outs, mobilisation and other critical marine activities. Each assignment is assessed against the specific operation, vessel configuration, environmental conditions and applicable technical requirements.

Towage and Sailaway Surveys

For ocean and coastal towage operations, Midwest Marine Group can assess the condition and suitability of the tug, tow and associated equipment prior to departure. This may include inspection of towing arrangements, tow connections, emergency towing equipment, navigation and safety equipment, watertight integrity and other systems relevant to the proposed voyage.

Operational documentation, weather limitations, voyage planning and towing procedures can also be reviewed before final attendance and sailaway approval.

Independent Marine Assurance

Our role is to provide an independent technical assessment of the proposed marine operation and identify conditions or deficiencies that should be addressed before the operation proceeds.

Where issues are identified, we work with vessel operators, project teams, contractors and other stakeholders to establish practical corrective actions and verify their completion.

Experience in Complex Marine Operations

Midwest Marine Group has experience supporting complex towage, barge and marine transport operations, including damaged vessels, offshore assets and major ocean towage projects.

Our approach combines practical seagoing and marine surveying experience with detailed inspection, technical review and clear reporting to support informed operational decisions.

Integrated Inspection Capability

Where required, Marine Warranty Surveys can be supported by MMG's broader inspection capabilities, including ultrasonic thickness testing, drone inspection, ROV inspection, thermal imaging, visual testing and other non-destructive testing techniques.

This integrated capability allows structural condition, inaccessible areas and other identified risks to be investigated as part of the overall marine assurance process.
