Damaged Jack-Up Barge Tow – Marine Warranty Survey

Midwest Marine Group was engaged to undertake a Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) for the tow of a damaged jack-up barge from Point Samson to Port Hedland.

The project involved providing independent technical assurance to verify that the proposed tow could be undertaken safely and in accordance with recognised marine warranty requirements. Our surveyors reviewed the tow plan, inspected the towing equipment and arrangements, assessed the condition of the barge following the incident, and verified the suitability of the towing vessel and associated equipment.

Attendance during the mobilisation and sailaway ensured that all critical aspects of the operation complied with the approved procedures and that the tow was fit to proceed. Upon satisfactory completion of the inspection and verification process, sailaway approval was issued for the voyage to Port Hedland.
